Over the years I have gravitated to the Canon range of camcorders and have no reason to change. While they are a bit more expensive, they are good workhorses and the support (touch wood) cannot be faulted. I have had some problems – all of my own doing – but Canon have been great in fixing my handiwork (although not cheaply). But then again, you get what you pays for
